NOVEMBER 2022!!
Bear started November out with a bang, literally. He escaped the house and ran down the street, Hallee chasing after him, then promptly ran into traffic on 900 East and was hit and thrown by a car. Birgitte, our neighbor, saw it happen and came to the door to tell me. I thought, "I better go find Casey first before heading down so that there is one of us to comfort and hold Hallee and one of us to carry the dead dog home." Birgitte told me that Bear was thrown into the air and then about 30 feet in front of the car. After finding Casey, we walked down the driveway to head down the street when suddenly Bear appeared, stunned, but apparently okay. He was walking and moving well but had some lacerations on his face and legs and generally appeared to be largely uninjured, at least seriously.
