Finishing up the year--December 2017

December was a flurry of activity. One big contributor to the flurry was Sophie's many practices, dress rehearsals, and performances. The Salt Lake Children's Choir performed two nights at the Cathedral of the Madeline, two nights with the Salt Lake Choral Artists, once at a local chapel, and twice at care centers downtown. Backing that up were weekly (and then bi-weekly) practices as well as dress rehearsals for each of the major performances. It was a little too much for me. She had choir responsibilities on nearly half of the days in December. If it weren't such an incredible, positive, amazing experience for her, I would totally work on dissuading her, but there is so much power in good music, and that is what they sing--the music of heaven. And it affects our whole home. All of my kids sing along with Sophie's repertoire since they've heard her practice and perform so much.
