On New Year's Day we braved the crowds (after sleeping in and vowing to get up earlier next year) up Millcreek Canyon for a hike up and ski down Porter Fork. There were hoards of people (and a woman hiking alone with three small children and a hurt dog that we tried to help) but we still got in a little back-country skiing (for Casey and I) and hiking/skiing down for the kids (minus Sean, who rode in the haul sled that Casey pulled up). We got to see Neal and Kellee (and Jed) while they were in town and Kellee shared this classic photo with us: Neal and Kellee lived in our basement when they were newlyweds. Casey and I were freshly married as well and we had babies just one month apart. Jed was Sophie's first friend. It was awesome (for both Kellee and I) to have another mom in the house so that we could leave the baby and run an errand. We miss them! We got to see HB and his family while he was in town briefly.
