A Whole Lot of Crazy!
If you examine this picture carefully, you can see a big patch of missing shingles on the roof of the Sullivan's little house on Best Avenue. That crazy windstorm a week and a half ago is to blame. Naughty wind. So we hatched this crazy idea that we could gather a few friends and family members and "repair this ourselves." Last Wednesday I hauled the kids down to a roofing supply place, forked out nearly $2,000 and ordered everything that we'd need. (I could tell it was a shocker for the rough workin' man-types to see a housewife and her little people ordering a big load of roofing materials, but they all smiled and were VERY nice to us. They even made us hot chocolate.) Last Thursday I had a big dumpster delivered to our front yard. Last Friday Casey, one of our our home teachers (Roy Brown), a friend from our neighborhood (Todd Miller), and myself climbed onto the roof and cleaned every last shingle off. (Ilean watched...
