This winter we took many treks up to the top of Porter Fork, dragging our sleds behind us and then sledding back down at breakneck speeds. I usually ended up hauling Sean up. He'd be all motivated to hike up, talking up his strong legs, and then he'd nonchalantly throw himself into my sled for a ride up to the top with me coaxing him to get out and walk up to an imaginary bus stop so that I could pick him up again. He'd often fall asleep in the sled, snow tickling his face as we moved steadily up the snow-covered road. (Somehow it nearly always started to snow as we hiked up the road, especially as we climbed into the higher elevations.) We re-memorized the 13 Articles of Faith again this year as a family. Our motivation was a trip to Paradise Buffet and a round of family ice skating. Even Lindy and Sean earned their passes! This year Pi Day, March 14, fell on a Sunday so we went on a 3.14 miles walk.
