What NOT to do on a Monday Morning . . .

After eating breakfast--pancakes to be precise--I started cleaning up the kitchen and noticing the bit o' batter left, decided to cook that up.  After I poured three little griddle cakes into the pan, I put something in the small kitchen recycling bin.  The recycling bin was looking rather full, and I made the decision to take it out to the big recycling dumpster rather than procrastinate for later.  While dumping the recycling bin, I noticed that my garden beds looked rather dry, having suffered through the Sabbath sans water.  I rolled out the hose and proceeded to water all of my square foot gardens and the fruit trees AND filled the chickens water.  In the distance, I could hear a weird beeping noise, then another.  I wondered what that could possibly be, then proceeded to push Zeke on the swing for awhile.  Soph and Hal wanted to head up the street to play with friends, so I told Hal to go get a brush and bring it outside for a little backyar...

Lost and Found!

I was at the library this week with all three kids.  When we left, we had a big pile of books, so as always, I divided the load between us.  I had Zeke with one arm and six books in the other arm--an awkward load at best!  Sophie and Hallee had a bag of books that they were responsible for getting to the van.  The trek to the van involved much moaning.  Needing one hand to open the van door, I set my pile of books on the roof of the van, then proceeded to quickly buckle everyone into their seats.  Lots of crying scrambles my brain waves and I totally forgot about the books on the van.  We pulled out of the parking lot and heard a thump as we crossed a sizable dip.  I quickly looked behind me and saw nothing.  The girls kept talking about the sound and we when we were halfway home, I realized that I'd left the books on the roof and that they were probably in that dip by the library parking lot.  So I hurried and turned arou...
