Sean, building his weekly spelling words into a crossword puzzle. He comes up with his own words and they are often tricky ones but he's handling it! Sophie does homeschool with Sean on Mondays so that I can get out with friends on a weekly adventure in the mountains. Bless her! Sean likes to write exclusively in capital letters, so we are working on getting the lowercase letters down. Last week we calculated the density of this sample of iron pyrite to determine its purity. Casey and I joined the Sundberg's for dinner at the Dodo Restaurant and then downtown to the Delta Center to see comedian Nate Bargatze. (We had seen Ryan Hamilton at the Wise Guys Comedy club the weekend before so we were on a comedy roll.) It was a blast. Lindy's 2nd XC meet of the season was at Wheaton Farm Regional Park in Draper. Lindy Loo, running her heart out with a smile on her face.  Lindy, Sean, and Meg ran with Eisley on the final stretch of her race in solidarity. It was so cool to watch them running together and supporting Eisley.   On October 3rd, Casey, Lindy, Sean and I hiked Wheeler Peak, elevation 13,065 feet, in Nevada. We stayed in Baker the night before and woke up early, hoping that the gate would be open so that we could drive to the trailhead. It had been closed a few days before after a snow storm (and the government shutdown didn't help either).  It was chilly and once we got to the shoulder, the winds picked up, blowing us off balance with every step. It was intimidating but we said a prayer, held hands, and kept hiking. Sean got altitude sickness and didn't want to eat or drink anything.
