House O' Sullivans

Years ago my mom was sorting through boxes of old things and found her high school pep club uniform. Upon discovery of this amazing artifact, she got up and danced the "Highland Fling" for us. I died laughing! I couldn't believe that she planned on throwing such a treasure away, so I've kept it all these years. More than 20 years after I saved this relic from a sad fate, my mom donned it once again and wore it to her high school reunion where she dazzled her classmates with a rousing rendition of the Highland Fling. She is amazing! Casey and I have decided to be more deliberate in making time to spend with each of our children individually.  Last week on Thursday, Sophie went to her Liberty Girl's Club (a group of girls her age who read historical fiction then gather to discuss and do projects and activities related to the time period that they're studying) and Zeke had a man-play-date with his friend Issac, so Hallee and I planned our OWN extravaganza.  We packed a lunch and loaded it into a backpack, then rode our bikes to a local park to explore an untamed section.  This park has a tiny stream that runs through part of it that is grown over with willows and extends for quite a ways.  I'd never explored the whole thing, so we brought our magnifying glasses and went for it. This summer it is non-stop action around here.  These first few photos are from a while back, but I just found them on Casey's phone and they deserve posting.  With the help of his friends Dave and Trent, Casey installed his first BIG carving project several months ago at a law office downtown.  Dave and Trent, working on the installation.
