JULY 2022!!
As the 4th of July weekend approached, Casey decided that he wanted to spend it on a backpacking trip. Still suffering from PTSD from our last backpacking adventure in Willow Gulch (a flat Thermarest, poison ivy that liberally oozed for a full week followed by a massive itchy hive breakout and three weeks of very little sleep because of those sequential events), I opted for a mom-rest-staycation instead. So on the 1st of July, Casey bravely took 6 kids (our 5 plus a cousin, Finn) on an epic journey into the High Uintas, starting a couple of drainages east of Henry's Fork in a rarely visited area up the Middle Beaver Trail. Here they are, gathering in the hammock right before their exodus (plus our neighbor, Lina). I took this picture just in case we needed to send in Search and Rescue after the away team.
