Finding Winter!!
That's what we did. We just went and found winter. It's been such a long hot summer, that two weeks ago we went to Idaho (and Montana and Wyoming) and found us some winter. We have some friends that graciously let us stay at their cabin (again) in Island Park near Yellowstone for a few days. The cabin is a stone's throw from the Henry's Fork--a spring fed river that feeds into the Snake. It is an incredibly beautiful area. We last stayed three years ago, during the same time of year, and the weather was gorgeous --sunny and in the 70s. Ideal. This time, we were hoping for more of the same, but the forecast was for rain and snow nearly the whole time we'd be there. So we prepared to greet Winter in all of her glory, packing our warmest coats, mittens, hats, and waterproof boots, ready to embrace what was.
